Recently, Local 66 Political Director Pete Zarcone was in Albany making his rounds and keeping his relationships strong. Zarcone joined other union leaders to lobby on an affordable housing and condo imitative with 80 units or more. POSTED: May 2010

Local 66 is one of Long Island's most active and influential building trades unions when it comes to politics. We understand that to get work, we need to build strong relationships with elected officials and the community. Local 66 will again be hosting the candidate screenings in the coming weeks at the union hall. Where we will be making important decisions on which candidates will best serve our needs. With the NYS Governors race up for election this year it appears we will be supporting the Democratic candidate Andrew Cuomo. And the odd on favorite for NYS Attorney General looks to be Kathleen Rice. This political season will be a busy one for us, so enjoy the summer, but be ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work this Fall. If you want to get involved today and help coordinate election activities, contact Local 66 Polital Director Pete Zarcone at lipac66@aol.com.
